Autograph Session @ Oriental Place

*yawn*...up again at 11sth to get ready to go to Oriental Place. What we decided the night before is that we should get there at 1pm, eventhough the autograph session doesn't start till 5pm. Our philosophy is that, since we don't have those tickets to get an autograph, we should go earlier to line up or at least find a good place to stand.

Poor Alice got there before 1pm and saw the security people setting up the place. The rest of us didn't get there till about 1:30pm, so she ended up waiting by herself. A couple of other people were already there. We were tired and hungry and just didn't know what to do. However, it was nice to be in a group so at least there was a certain degree of "support". haha, and then they started to play Leo songs and we started to sing. Us in our ORANGE tees...hehe, everyone was staring at us, and that was the point! We wanted people to know that we had a group of die hard fans here and it was a good way to advertise for our website!! hehe =)

I don't remember the sequence in which the other kukus came, but there were a lot of =\ moments during those 4 hours as we anticipated Leo's arrival. I'm just glad we were there for each other and that we all pulled through in the end~ After a lot of mix up, we ended up being at the front of the line for the group "without tickets" but flo and I gave up our spot for Gloria and Karen S. What ended up happening was that EVERYONE got to go on stage and get an autograph/pic/handshake...everyone except fluss. well, Jeff didn't want to go so thats a different story. But ya...that was really poohie. We ran up and down the escalators and and screamed at the top of our lungs, waving signs, lifting banners, just...totally making a fool of ourselves. I think what I enjoyed most about it though, was not the actual LEO part of it all, but seeing how happy sumsum was to go on stage, how excited Carmen was to be there, and Cece telling me how glad she was to meet a group of people who equally as crazy. HAHAHA...I think all those things means so much more than seeing Leo there and getting his autograph.

There was an incident while we were lining up when some not-so-civilized people were budding and causing trouble. So some other people had to call security and it got pretty messy. Standing there and listening to them swear and each other and stuff...reminded me that I'm not longer 14-15. I was there and I was crazy, but I was civilized and considerate of others. I was glad, and I felt proud to say I've waited 11 years for all this =) I'm sure I can get a couple of nodding heads...hehe!! I think that this "step back into time" was good for me...I got to live out a childhood dream, and it made me realize how childish it really was. Heck, no regrets though, b/c every part of the experience made me very happy, yup...even the poohie moments!!

I think we (our kuku group) set a very good impression the night before, and so a lady from Tai Pan approached Alice when she was on stage to ask for our contact info, stating that Lorraine would like to have us at the airport when Leo leaves. I was really happy to hear that, not b/c of seeing Leo again, but to know that we did set a good impression on him (note: this notion does not last long) we hung around a bit after the autograph session, and we even asked the Tai Pan people if we could take a group pic in front of the stage!! haha, crazy kukus. It was good b/c we didn't crowd around the glass room where they were doing interviews and we didn't push and shove like others. mm, very proud of my fellow kukus =)

We even discovered that the bald guy who was walking around is a choir member from CMC!! too bad we didn't know earlier, or else he could have done something for us, or so he claims..haha. But it was nice chatting with him for a bit...you can always tell who's a Catholic =) It was also really nice to see Cindy again after so many years!! Yes, YEARS...she was one of the "orginal 6". Actually, Leo really pulls us together b/c we got to see Peggy again too!! aww man, my kukus...I miss you all so much. Now that I'm typing this up a week after all the fuss, it makes me really miss all the kuku stuff we did together~ *hugs* for my kukus!!

Saturday was a very special day...it was a day when the kukus stood together and really BONDED. We weren't like those people on JSG covering our faces, but we stood proud and sang at the top of our lungs. Many people walked by, pointed, smirked, took pictures, whatever...but that didn't affect us at all. We weren't doing it for Leo, but for each other. It was a very special moment. One I will never forget. So what if Leo didn't look at us once or gave rat's ass that we were there, all that matters is that we WERE there...together.

Thank You My Dear KuKus =)

My Idol x2

The past 5 days...have been nothing but KUrazy!!!

[warning: this is going to be a LONG one]

Friday., Sept 16th (4 years +1 day after Leo "flied us airplane" LOL)

I reached Markville Mall at approximately 7:08pm, and called Flo. Luckily, she was still at the mall with Cece, b/c she didn't get my sms to tell her to wait for me. So I got to meet Cece for the first time (but she already knew me from GT) and off we went to Firefly to meet up with the rest of the gals heading to see Leo at the airport. We stopped by Michael's first to pick up a nice paper bag to put the tee for Leo in and even got some GOLD ribbon, LOL. When we got to the restaurant, Bonnie and Katie were already there and KK was still trying to park. We sat down, introduced our new friend, and ordered some food to eat.

We ate and chat, looked at some Leo pics and played with kubi. As calm as we all tried to act, nobody could really hide the excitement that was spurging from within. Alice, Lisa, Vanda, and Karen S. joined us after dinner as we took off on our journey. It was a rainy night, and both KK and flo's first time driving all the way to Pearson. That was quite an adventure on its own! LOL. We got there, parked, got our tshirts and banners and signs and cameras ready...and set off to look for the ARRIVAL section. KK and them came a bit later after missing the exit 2 times, but its OK b/c you still made it!! =)

We stood around waiting for other people to pick up their friends/relatives to move up to the very front. Then we saw this guy staring at us, and we all had a bad hunch that he was the Tai Pan person, and he was trying to keep us away from Leo. We also met another Leo fan (Jason) who came on his own to meet Leo, how nice! We waited and waited, but b/c we knew that he was on the 9:55 flight, we felt confident that we'd at least catch a glimpse of him.

Edmond walked out and some of us started to snap our cameras, so he walked over thinking we were waiting for HIM. He was nice enough to smile and wave at us, but I turned around b/c I felt really bad that we weren't exactly there to welcome HIM. Kary came out with some dude and she was super inchy. Justin walked out on his own, and immediately, you can just FEEL the ABC in him. Cap on backwards, slouching over his trolley, taking big slow strides. Then of course, our LEO came out with Lorraine.

Lorraine was pushing the airport trolley (tsktsk, LEO!!) and he had (haha) a YELLOW and LEOPARD PRINT suitcase. I mean, he had 3 suitcases, one was yellow and the other was leopard print. I just thought I'd mention that (cuz its funny and I'll make reference to it later). So of course, he saw the 10 of us waving at him in our bright orange tees (thanks to Katie for the awesome design!!) and he walked over. We were very good, no screaming, just waving...and BIG SMILES on our faces. Leo came over and the first thing he said was "sorry, but they are waiting for me". Of course, I yelled out "can you come over for a handshake?" and he came over and shook all of our hands =D [sidenote: if anyone was wondering who was the one who WOULD NOT let go of him...it was FLO!!]

After he shook all our hands, he walked outside to join the rest of the crew, and of course, we followed. Haha, we walked behind the crowd and we were very considerate and did not make a fool of ourselves (proud of us!) Leo and the rest of the gang proceeded to the limo, and as we were following them, Lisa says "hey, that's Justin!" and pointed to the guy in red walking next to us. She got very excited and so I told her to ask him for a picture. Justin was very nice and friendly, and agreed to taking a picture (but only after he put out his cigarette) We all took turns to take pictures with him, and continued to chase after Leo (haha).

Leo got into the limo immediately and did not hang around to chat with us, but we just stood there outside his limo, waving and snapping away. However, I could tell that he was very tired, so I told the others to stop taking pics...of him. What we ended up doing was standing (right outside his limo) and taking pics of OURSELVES as if he wasn't even there! hahaha...that was pretty funny. After a while, the limo took off, we waved goodbye to them and they waved back (awww) and then we all went back into the airport. Ohoh, and our new friend Jason came back to get his camera bag thingee...the orange one!! haha. match.

Took more pics inside the airport and decided that we'll go for bbtea together to just sit down and chat for a bit. Everyone was so exhausted by this point, but also very very happy that Leo was so nice and approachable. I think one thing that we were really glad about is that we actually got to see him, and not like how we feared that we got the wrong flight info or something like that. We were all happy kukus at the end of the night *big smile*

We ended up heading back to FMP and sat down for drinks @ Bing Ma Yung. I ordered my "idol drink"(haha) hot milk tea w/"bui ah". Boss taught me to drink that once, and I've been calling it my "idol drink" since then!! LOL. We lingered for a bit but everyone was dead tired (running on pure adrenaline) so we all headed home. Correction, THEY headed home and Flo dropped me off at Take One to meet up with the K gang.

OMG, the room was SOOO PACKED. I was trying to make out some of the faces in the dark but I knew there were some people there that I didn't know. Whatever. I started babbling about my Leo stories and just started to scream and jump! Everything up till then was so surreal. But to be back within a group of close friends, I realized what just actually happened...I MET LEO KU!!! wahahahahaha....sor jor. To top it off, Jeff and Boss sang some Leo songs throughout the night. NICE. Lum say.

Got to see both my idols in one night...haha, how nice! We even did a "everybody" version of Ging Gor Gum Kok where we passed the mic around. That's always a lot of fun. It was a long day, but the beginning to 5 days of intense Leoism (haha, my new school of thought) I couldn't really sleep that night...but I fell asleep only b/c my body couldn't physically stay up anymore by about 4:30am. hmm..up again the next morning for the autograph session!!!!!!!!! *V*

walk with YOU always...

My GT05 Sharing:

Where do I even begin...??

I remember last year's GT, Bosco told me that he really enjoyed it and would like to help out in the following year. I told him that if he was on committee, then I would help out on Program Team. Ha! After discernment, not only was Boss on committe, but also my honey, so how can I say NO to them when they asked me to co-lead Program Team with none other than my girlie...Suzanne!! =)

The moment that Mona told me they wanted both me and Suz to lead the team, I knew I couldn't turn her down. Honestly, there is no other person in this world I would have picked to share this duty with. Suz and I are so similar in many ways, yet we compliment each other's shortcomings (haha, I think she knows what I mean!!) We work well together, and um, we play well together too!! hehe~ Suz: THANKS YOU!! LoL

So ya...the recruitment began for our "Program Team" and with God's guidance, we were blessed with a very very hardworking team this year. Every member of the team contributed to make the "GT Cake" yummy!! (as our sharing says) I would just like to take this opportunity to say a BIG "thank you" to all the members of Program Team this year. It was your hard work and dedication that made GT05 such a success!!!

Pat Yuen (my neighbour): You are absolutely AMAZING!! Helping out with so many teams and making Confession Call (haha) SUCH a success!! You and me, Luen Kee, my treat. Anytime =)

Pat Ko (siu bing): A little nervous at first, but you made a great MC!! Thanks for always smiling when I got frustrated, and never saying NO when I asked you to do all the dirty jobs. LOVE YA!

Joanna: for always making it to meetings, and always being supportive of all the decisions we made (both good and bad) and being an awesome group leader, THANK YOU!!

Jessica: for all your fun and creative ideas and always keeping up with our minutes when you couldn't make it to meetings and being the first to offer to be a group leader, THANK YOU!!

Felix: the quiet one who kept us on track whenever we drifted off topic, your presence and pariticipation made our group more efficient =)

Kitty: for doing all the contact work with handbook team and the local reps, and always trying to make it out to Toronto for meetings...you're awesome!!

Susie: our cutie little Susie, a great team member and a great group leader! I know it was a challenge for you and Kitty to make it our meetings, but thanks for always trying!! =)

Benedict: another quiet member (or maybe only quiet in contrast to me and Suz! lol) it was great to have you getting involved with GT!!

and last but not least...Suz: no need to say anything. just 3 words: I LOVE YOU!!!

Suz and I are both very "strong" in a way that we were always ready to help and work, but we are also not afarid to let people know about how we felt. I remember when Mag was asking me to call the first meeting, and I plainly told her I won't. Poor Mag, always the one taking the grief from me!! (please don't take any of it personally) In a way, I felt bad for being so straight forward and saying "I won't call a meeting until you guys have finalized on a theme, I don't want my group to lose confidence in us and see how unorganized we are". But on the other hand, I'm glad that I did, b/c I think it made them really get to work =P hahaha...

As the meetings began and we started to plan for the program, I constantly prayed for our team and all the other people helping out with GT. I asked God to help each one of us to live out the theme first, so that we may help others "walk with Jesus" too. In the end, I think we were all able to do that, and it makes me very proud of each member of the committee and working teams =) A job well done, guys!

Although meetings seemed to never end, and deadlines were just flying by, I must say that I enjoyed every moment of the preparation process for this year's GT. Rod was right, b/c GT was not only 4days-3nights for us, but the 6 months of working up to the camp. There were times when I thought that the work would never get done, and other times when it seemed as if I won't be able to make it (for health reasons). But of course, God will never place a cross on us that we cannot carry. Just as I mentioned in the group sharing for "Stations of the Cross", I think that my experience of "joyful suffering" is GT. All the work that lead up to these 4 days was hard work and suffering. Many times when I fell and others came to help me up. And finally, being at camp and seeing everyone enjoying the programs was my own resurrection, when I saw the fruit of our labour =)

I felt bad for not being able to participate in all our the group times, and not being able to spend time with FL. There was a moment during commissioning mass when I really missed Peace, and I wish that they were all there to share in the joy. Over the 4 days, there were so many mixed feelings. Anxiety for the program rundown, concerns for the first-timers and younger campers, guilt for not being able to be in my group, incompetence for my weak body...and of course, there were good feelings too. To see how united the working teams were, to see everyone sing and dance together, to see campers taking pictures and signing handbooks...=)

and to committee...

Mone: my honey, my sister, my boo...every time I was down, you were there to hold me up. I don't think I would have been able to take on this challenge without your love and support. Thanks for always being so understanding and patient with me. I love you and I thank you for your trust and confidence. I will not die =) hahaha

Clement: (lol) with your own busy schedule and lack of sleep, you were always there to help and support us during program team meetings. Thanks for your involvement and guidance. I love to "fai" with you, and I really appreciate your ability to work efficiently when needed.

Bosco: my Idol...the one I look up to (literally). To see the way that the 6 of you love and support each other shows me what it means to be a true Catholic. Thanks for being my "shade" when the sun was shining too bright, and always looking out for me.

Mag: the one who had to deal with all my temper. Sorry if I ever said/did anything that hurt you, but pelase understand that my frustration was not directed towards YOU. Thanks for all your hard work over the past year, you kept the rest of them on track!!

Matthew: the quiet one who did the admin work. The one who never said "no" when you asked him to drive from Sauga for meetings, or print million sof pages of stuff. You're amazing. Being able to work with you is a true blessing.

Justin: Never thought that you were so "fai", but in a good way. GT was a great opportunity for you to put your talent to work. Thanks for a beautiful theme song~ and always offering your house for meetings!! =)

and to flo and rod: thanks for all your support and understanding when I was "too tired to talk" or "can't go out b/c of meetings" ...love you~

and to every person who took part in the camp, I hope that you were able to get something out of it, that you learned something about yourself and your relationship with Jesus that you can take back you your daily life, to continue be "salt of the earth, light of the world"
