The Departed
Awesome Thanksgiving!! :) Thanks to Auntie Vennie for inviting us over!! Haven't had so much fun and good food in a while now. Nice to drink some homemade "soup" :) mmm....tasty!
Woke up around 10sth yesterday to wait for someone to call and head out to lunch. Of course, I waited till 12 only to find out that he was still in bed. HON. So, made udon at home and then headed out. What a beautiful day it was yesterday!! (today is very nice too, but its supposed to rain later on) Nice walk to VIVA stop, and NO CONSTRUCTION!! haha...my VIVA stop is right next to the construction site, and usually is very dirty and loud when I get there, but yesterday, ahhh...it was so nice and peaceful :)
Got there around 2:50pm and had some fun looking for Silvercity (hehe) and got our tickets and found some seats and waited...and waited...where were they? hahaha. Apparently, Jerome went and bought a fish so he had to prep it and take it over to Sa's place first. [yummy fish, thanks Jerome! :)] So we watched "The Departed"...um, I must agree with Sa that it was better than expected. Of course, Leo will never come close to Tony, but it wasn't too bad. I think for those who have never seen the original movie...this would have been pretty ok. Matt Damon was pretty buff, but this definitely isn't his best. All in all, I'd have to say that the movie was pretty funny...haha, esp that part with the Chinese mafia people. They should pay a couple bucks more to hire REAL Chinese speaking people and not just use some ABCs...I think the 4 of us were the only ones in the theatre who laughed...out loud :P
Then headed back to Sa's place to cook up a Chinese style Thanksgiving dinner. Of course, like all other traditional Chinese meals, we had (pumpkin) soup!! mm...so tasty! I believe fish is supposed to mean like good health/good energy or something, so of course we had that :) Actually, if you count the soup and fried rice, we had 6 things for 5 people!! ohoh, and of course...the MOONCAKE!!! hahaha *inside joke*
Too bad the others couldn't make it. Maybe next time (when Jerome cooks for us! :P) and we'll definitely need to get together and play more MJ!! Will never forget Jerome's "I HAVE A FLOWER!!!" hahahahahaha...aii, too funny :P
That's what Thanksgiving is all about. To be with your "family" and loved ones, and to share happy moments and GOOD FOOD :D Thanks guys...love you!! So glad that *you* made it, hehe, we seriously need to move out...or just move IN with Auntie Vennie!! hahaha :P
